Conference configurations - plenary or general, workshops or breakout sessions

Plenary or General Configurations

This is the most common configuration for convention presentations, and large lectures. Its requirements are at least 2 simultaneous interpreters, an interpreter's control unit, 1 transmitter per language pair, and 1 receiver-headphone set per person. Preferred systems would include a soundproof booth, 2 transmitters per language pair and multi-channel receivers.

Workshop or Breakout Configurations

This configuration is usually limited to fifty (50) people or less and requires additional set-ups and breakdowns of equipment. The specifics vary depending on the length of the sessions and the sizes of the rooms.
