Hi Patricia,

I am interested in the Fender Executive Wireless Microphone Kit which you show as a B stock unit. What does B stock mean?
Hi Donald,
Anytime an item is returned to our warehouse, for whatever reason, it is tested by our trained technicians to find out if something is wrong. If we find a problem, we fix it and return or replace the unit.
But if there is no problem and the customer simply wants a different item (for whatever reason) we offer the equipment as B stock at a greatly reduced price and a full warranty.
For the bargain hunter, shopping for B-stock is a great way to save money.
The only drawback is the box may be resealed, but what's inside is perfectly good and in fact usually pristine audio equipment.
In fact, some people think B stock is better than new because these items have been tested and we know they work fine.
The Fender wireless microphone you are inquiring about is an incredible bargain: it is still covered by the FULL Manufacturer's Warranty and meets the same quality control standards as the new model.

I read your tips on CD care in the last newsletter. Do you have any advice on repairing scratched CDs?
Hi Olivia,
Here's what I've found out through both research and practical experience:
If the disc is lightly scratched you might be able to polish it and restore it to playable condition. If there are lots of deep scratches, or if the CD is damaged, it's probabally a lost cause because if the reflective layer is scratched or damaged, the disc is normally unrecoverable.
Before attempting any repair, try washing the disc with clear water and a dab of liquid dish detergent. Don't scrub too hard. Rinse the disc and shake off as much water as you can. Then wipe it off with a soft, clean cloth, in a clockwise direction.
Believe it or not, the Maxell Premium Cassette Head Cleaning Kit works surprisingly well on slightly damaged CDs. A gentle polishing with the cleaning solution may make a disc playable even though the scratch is not fully removed. This may be even better than complete scratch removal because it leaves some protective coating behind.
