AudioLink's Review of CD/DVD Duplicators
Recordex vs. MicroBoards
Recordex has recently launched a new line of CD/DVD duplicators which in this issue we are comparing to the well-known industry leader MicroBoards.
We've known for years that Recordex makes top notch cassette tape duplicators which I previously compared with the established brands SONY and Telex.
Once again the question is how does this new Recordex entry stack up?
What we've found is that Recordex has added some new features for its CD/DVD duplicators which distinguish them from MircoBoards as well as others in the field.
On balance, Recordex does well both on quality issues and on price.
For our full comparison please see our posted article.

Introducing Buhl Projectors
&
Media Carts
We are proud to announce the addition of Buhl Projectors & Media Carts to our extensive line of School & Classroom A/V.
Buhl Electric has been in existence as a manufacturer since 1985. Buhl continuously designs new products offering the highest quality and performance for overhead projectors, opaque projectors and a new LCD projector. This innovative approach by Buhl has made them one of the premier suppliers in the projector market.
Look over this list and you'll get an idea of why we are so excited by this new opportunity at AudioLink:
- The singlet open head Buhl 9013EDC is constructed of a high-impact molded plastic-split case designed for easy maintenance access and durability. It features a lamp changer to allow switching without presentation interruption.
- The Buhl Mark IV Opus is the ideal projector for non-transparent materials such as original documents, books, magazines and many 3-dimensional solid objects.
- The multifunctional Buhl HACAB4226E media cart is constructed from heavy gauge steel, features a locking cabinet and can be adjusted from 26 to 42 inches in height.
- The Buhl EYB-5 is a 360 watt, 82 volt projection lamp with 75 hours of projection time.
In launching this line we are offering great specials and invite you to call for volume discounts on supplies, including the Write-On transparency film roll and the ENX-5 360 watt projector lamp.

Do you have pro-audio questions? AudioMan's got answers!
Sellessie S. asks:
The Pastor in our church has asked me to look into purchasing an FM listening system for the congregation. As I read up on these products I see a lot of references to the phrase "RFI". Can you explain? By the way, your prices are great!
Hi Sellessie,
RFI* stands for Radio Frequency Interference. Radio frequency sound waves can be caused by many sources including short-wave radio equipment, household electrical circuitry, even computers and other electronic devices. In areas like big cities or near military installations, interference may come from broadcast antennae or microwave towers. RFI sometimes interferes with audio signals, causing noise and other distortions.
In the case of FM Listening Systems the impact is minimal unless you are within approximately 500 feet of a powerful transmission source. In that case the newer generation of products includes front panel switching options and easy receiver tuning which allows access to a wide range of frequencies unaffected by the source transmitters. And since you like our prices so much, I'm sure you'll be pleased with what you find among the systems available.
Hope this helps!

Bill H. sent us this request for a recommendation:
I would like to start my son on guitar lessons but I've heard that most guitars are made for right-handed people. Do you have any left-handed models? Thank you for your time.
Hi Bill,
Sounds like you may have another Dick Dale in the making! He is known as the "The King of Surf Rock Guitar" and was frustrated as a boy growing up in the 1940's because left handed guitars were even more scarce in those days than they are now. He actually converted a right handed guitar by turning it upside down and learning to play it backwards! But have no fear, we have a solution that will help your son learn properly and comfortably.
The Washburn D10SLH is a left handed dreadnought acoustic guitar that's at home whether you take lessons around the campfire or at the conservatory. Features include a high gloss solid spruce top complimented by rich mahogany backings and sides. The Rosewood fingerboard and high-quality machine geared tuners round out the picture perfect instrument for your aspiring musical legend in the making. And the price tag is extremely student friendly - $298.95.
That's more than 25% off the $400.00 retail price! Hope this does the trick...please keep us posted on your son's progress!
Good luck and happy surfing!
